We have just received a promotional pamphlet from One Bloomfield United. I find that the bar chart showing cumulative millage rate as well as reference to “reduced taxes’ is a misrepresentation. In order to compare taxes, one must compare two options. New Construction and NO new construction. If no new school is built then impact of renovation costs must be considered. If no new construction is done, taxes will be MUCH LESS than what is shown in this pamphlet. Also the fact that the new bond issue will impose taxes till the year 2040 is CONVENIENTLY ignored. Use of $20 million fund at hand is buried on second page. This , I find., not a very fair representation unless there is a disclosure that the organization sending the literature is in favor of a yes vote..and only a yes vote. That makes the material promotional. Voters should know this.
I don’t think they oppose the Bloomfield Hills school district. In fact considering all the time the put in regarding the district, I think they care very deeply about it.Maybe you meant to say the forum moderators oppose poor decisions by the Bloomfield Hills school board.
Why is the entire yes and positive and factual information pushed to the bottom? Why not have all public comments listed in order and all articles to the paper in the same section? Why does this site use editorial biases to skew the issue? Why is B2020 so afraid of just telling the truth?
Maybe you should make up your own web site where you can put everything in the order you like. I went to the One Bloomfield United Yes site. I don’t see anything from Moms and Dads who oppose the plan. What’s up with that I wonder. Are you criticizing them as well or do they let you? I don’t know what the truth is, but I don’t see any reason to listen to you. You don’t tell me anything. You just complain and criticize. You sound pretty negative to me.
I think what “Anonymous” is trying to say is “BloomfieldHillsForum.wordpress.com” misrepresents itself as “A Safe Place where you can comment anonymously about the issues facing the Bloomfield Hills School District” when it really isn’t an open forum but moderated by a group that prefers its message to be primary to all those other opinions that district residents might have. Through a slight of hand and smoke and mirrors this site portrays itself as an open, balanced forum, when its not. Having a token B2020 and OBU tab at the top of the page does not make it an open forum. You can clearly tell by the myriad of “NO” posts (all by the same 5-7 people) on the BHForum home page what agenda this “forum” is pushing.
The One Bloomfield United site does not try to remotely position itself as an “open forum” but rather as a site for facts about the May 8th vote. Most of this stuff on this “BHforum” belongs on B2020.org. Why is there an attempt to hide behind a veil on this site, who runs/moderates it? Where’s the transparency?–sounds sneaky and misleading to me. Which leads to trust issues–why would a group like B2020 “hide” the fact they are behind this site. Is it because they are trying to “pull the wool over the eyes” of casual district residents? On the B2020 site, it even tries to imply that “We send material to bhsforum.org” to share with the community, when in reality it should say “We send material to ourselves” to post on BHSForum. While transparency is a value that B2020 holds dearly as it reviews the actions of the BHS Board, it clearly doesn’t practice what it preaches.
I am in full support of everyone being entitled to their opinion on any topic–it’s what makes this a great country. It is unfortunate when individuals leverage a platform of fear and misrepresentation of the facts to coerce others to see the world from their perspective. I encourage everyone to get the facts about the May 8th vote and make their OWN decision.

where are the yes postings? seems like on the home page of this site only negative NO information
I see Yes, No, and other postings on the home page.
why does this site no longer post all public comments only the negative ones?
Must be in the eye of the beholder. I see 11 Yes postings and 10 No postings. So I must ask Anon, March 10th what s/he means by negative.
